Travel is fatal to bigotry, prejudice, and narrow-mindedness. Broad, wholesome, and charitable views cannot be acquired by vegetating in one tiny corner of the globe. - Mark Twain
Two weeks remain until I depart Boulder, my home of 11 years, and set sail on a 7 month adventure across the states and overseas with my gentleman friend. My June-August itinerary is something along the lines of NYC--> Denver--> Telluride--> Denver--> Missouri--> Denver--> San Francisco on August 2nd. Dan will return to the Colorado sunshine for Telluride Bluegrass but will continue to work in San Fran until mid- August. We will leave San Fran around August 20th or so, swoop through Denver, and then drive to Chicago to fly out to New Delhi on September 3rd. It's really all happening. Everything has been purchased and taken care of except our travel insurance. A done deal, baby. A coworker told me yesterday that she thinks I have been talking about traveling for two years. I stuck with it- working my job during the day, and often painting commissions at night to save as much as I could for this journey. And Dan will have consistently worked 6 days a week from December- August (without a single complaint), to make it happen. Work hard, play hard- and go as big as possible. The Leos aren't as lazy as they are made out to be, especially when they want something magical!
So here, we are- gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime. I want this blog to chronicle our summer, our travels, and potentially my move to San Fran and our move to the East Bay following our trip. Here is our exact itinerary, for those of you who have been asking:
September 3rd--> October 8th-- INDIA
October 9th--> October 29th-- NEPAL
October 29th--> November 28th-- THAILAND
November 29th--> December 19th-- LAOS AND CAMBODIA
December 19th- Home to Denver for Christmas so my mama doesn't spank me!
Here's a little taste of what we have to look forward to!
